Chiltern Seeds say of this Borecole "Nero de Toscana": "Sometimes called Black Kale and now fast appearing in supermarkets and newspaper columns, this is an old Italian heirloom variety. With long, narrow, heavily blistered, dark grey-green leaves, something like enormous, nightmarish cats' tongues, it is very dwarf growing and produces an abundance of curly leaves from the centre of each plant. Keeps its bulk when cooked and stores well."
