This is an heirloom variety from Chiltern Seeds: "From the coast of Italy around Chioggia and widely grown around Venice comes this unique heirloom variety. One of the most beautiful of Squashes, it bears large, turban-shaped fruits of deep blue-green interestingly coarsely warted with large protuberances. The rich, sweet flesh is a deep yellow-orange and is delicious boiled or baked, in pies, used in minestrone soup or in an unusual risotto."
