
Notes from Keepers nursery: Pax is a mid season, red fruited gooseberry. Produces well shaped, slightly bristly, dark red fruit with a moderate dessert flavour. Plants are vigrous and spreading and need to be shaped by pruning. Young plants and new shoots have thorns but become virtually thornless once mature. Some resistance to mildew and leaf spots. Heavy cropper.
